FACS/AG Education

by Lori Romans

October 31, 2006

Finally!  We have been trying to get my web page working forever!  I am Mrs. Romans the FACS and Ag. teacher, as well as the Prom, Junior Class, School Store, FCCLA, FFA, and Cheerleading Advisor.  This picture was drawn for me last year by Christinna.  I am married, my husband is Skip, and we have four children.  I have two step chilren, son that lives in Colorado, and daughter who lives near Reading with her boyfriend and my two special grandbabies Dayton (17 mos) and Dayona (3 weeks).  My oldest daughter Christina is in her second year at Minnesota West, and my baby Sarah, is a Junior at Adrian High School.  As you can see between school and home I am very busy.  I live on the family homestead near Lismore along with my 12 goats and 25 (or so) chickens, 6 cats, and 3 German Shepherds.  During the summer when boredom takes over I am tending to my 1 acre garden.  I love teaching and being with young people.  Their ideas and energy keeps me young.

My teaching philosophy is to teach each student as I would want any teacher to teach my child.  School is an opportunity to learn and grow with a support network of adults that share similar ideas as parents, but are not the "parent".  Not all lessons come in the form of graded assignments.  My goal is to have each students become a vital, positive, productive member of society.
