Have you met Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, Hans Brinker, David Balfour, Quasimodo?Great Illustrated Classics have arrived at the SVRLB High School library. The set of over 50 books are adaptations, written at a lower reading level than the originals. Now all the students can read the classic writing of authors such as Mark Twain, Jules Verne, Victor Hugo, H.G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Alexandre Dumas, Jack London, Mary Shelley, and Washington Irving. Students can meet the characters and know the stories, even if the original writing is above their reading level.
This collection of books was purchased with technology grant money and will be used with the Renaissance Learning's Accelerated Reader program.
Note: Alexandre Dumas is the correct spelling.
